Given away hundreds of funnels to combat climate change (18/03/2008)

Cehegín City Council, through the Department of Environment, led by María Dolores Carrasco, has given hundreds of funnels to collect used vegetable oils to help curb climate change.

Following its accession to the agreement of counseling for Sustainable Development in the Region of Murcia, the municipality has set up a booth at the Plaza del Alpargatero, which has distributed these funnels and explained its operation to all attendees.

In addition they have been informed of the collection points of this waste, which have been installed in the Market Square, the Club of Pensioners and schools Virgen de las Maravillas y Pérez Villanueva.

The oil spilled into the sink or toilet produce odors, difficult to clean water and a breeding ground for microorganisms harmful to health.

Furthermore, recycling is produced soaps, lubricants, organic fertilizers and bio-fuels.

In fact, for every gallon of recycled oil gives a liter of biodiesel, a fact for which it is worthwhile to participate in this initiative.
