They have already been received in the Archaeological Museum of Cehegín, from the Museum of Murcia city, a rich display of archaeological treasures that holds this town Northwest;
including the Lady of Cehegín, the Altar of Jupiter, Captain Moro and tesorillo of Alquipir, which will remain in the museum of the city until early November, on the occasion of the exhibition "Begastri, a before and after" which will be inaugurated at the Museum ceheginero, this Thursday, October 1, at 20:00.
This will be attended by the Mayor of Cehegín, Jose Rafael Rocamora, and the Councillor for Culture, Wonders Fernandez.
We recall that in 1985 the Hon.
Cehegín City Council acquired the land Cabezo de Roenas and the archaeological site was declared a historic-artistic.
In 2002 it was declared a Cultural Interest.
Excavations began in the year 1980 from the hands of Professor of Ancient History don Antonino González Blanco, who remained as director of the same until his retirement in 2010.
