About 1,000 primary schools participating this month in the XIV Conference on Road Safety Education Cehegín (08/05/2015)

Cehegín Local Police and the departments of Public Safety and Traffic and Education, led by Maria Dolores del Toro and Nicolas Carrasco, respectively, in collaboration with the Provincial Traffic Authority of Murcia, are conducting the XIV Conference on Road Safety Education last Monday, May 4, until next May 29.

Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas, Perez Villanueva, Virgen de las Maravillas, Begastri City, Earl of Campillos and Grouped Rural College: In the conference all primary schools of the municipality involved.

The conference, biannual, with the slogan in its edition of 2015 'To avoid injury, respects the signs' and in the same include a total of 982 primary school students.

"The prinicipal objective of this conference is to create responsible habits and safe in children regarding the use of public roads and bicycles, instilling the basic rules on road safety education, promote respect for pedestrians and involve children in making Cehegín safer "people, as explained Councilwoman Maria Dolores Carrasco, who has visited the school this morning Count of Campillos.

The sessions consist of theoretical and practical classes, which are taught in schools themselves, where a fleet of bicycle traffic, which creates a practical circuit in which children participate both pedestrians and cyclists is installed.

First a walking tour takes place in the circuit, which is explained to the children the meaning of the various signals and know the circuit itself and then put into practice the knowledge acquired during the theoretical session with bicycles.

The sessions last approximately one hour and are led and coordinated by the local police after Christopher Botía, which has the support of a police officer.

With this conference is to highlight the importance of Driver Education School to improve road safety with the intention that the children can be good pedestrians, good cyclists and, in the future, good drivers and respectful signaling.

In addition it aims to strengthen knowledge and activities to engage students in the knowledge that certain behaviors are or may be dangerous to the rest of citizens and themselves if done improperly.
