The Highways Agency of the Autonomous Community has begun work on eliminating the so-called curve of Santa Barbara, one of the 'black spots' exist in the RM-B20 road connecting the villages of Cehegín with Canara and Valentin.

With this elimination curve Santa Barbara traffic safety for drivers and users of this road, which assumes an average daily traffic of 851 vehicles will be improved.

Last June, the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) published notice of this action, including the Road Safety Program of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, which aims to reduce the numbers of mortality in the regional road network.

The mayor, José Soria, and Councilman Works and Services, Juan Antonio Chico, visited the works, which will be solution to this problem.

Soria has highlighted that these works is in response to a claim both former residents and the City Council to eliminate this 'black spot'.

The mayor stressed that this action is in addition to other improvements that have been made on this road, as the new Holy Bridge crossing the river and removing Argos were at the entrance of the hamlet of Canara, known as the ' Houses Siro ', in addition to the dilapidated road that had narrowed dangerously.
