CB Begastri 102 - UPCT Cartagena 101 (01/05/2014)

Intense, exciting and worth remembering the game played this past Sunday Cehegín Begastri between our team and Cartagena.

The match was key in our relentless fight Begastri to leave the relegation places for the first time since the season began, defeat the previous day before the Ucam Murcia Alginet favored this to happen if we got the win.

The match had everything, including two extensions, time for a team, just for another epic pouring .... finally, we will narrate.

The match started spectacularly well for Begastri, very aware of the opportunity they posed and focused on doing good defenses and simple but effective attacks, Antonio Sánchez Cutillas with 11 points in this quarter, and Jorge Lledo 8, were decisive in this first quarter.

Cartagena took to the track with little spirit and distances soon began to be interesting, the quarter ended with a 21-7.

The second quarter started much the same, although it showed that the attitude of Cartagena had changed and were not going to be carried away in the encounter.

Distances were hovering around 15 points most of the second period, but the last few minutes of it were favorable to visitors who were able to play them better and managed to break cut income below 10 points away, 37-28.

The third quarter was very even, the teams were successful and some part of it was 17-16, leaving everything to decide in the fourth quarter.

The third period was pretty bad for Begastri not on the scoreboard, but for injury, as Pepe fell Llorente injured with a knee injury, and Antonio Sanchez, a sprained ankle, a figure that would be very transcendental on the rear pass of the game.

54-44 was the score of e Pavilion Loli de Gea at the end of the third period.

The last quarter was born with a significant local advantage, but the team already had its great reference in the game, and a difference of 4 fouls charged to Begastri in this room for 15 identified for Cartagena at the same time led to Cartagena dispusiese 18 free throws by 0 of our team in this room.

This difference in scoring opportunities was too pop's lead, and the game tightened, arriving at the last minute even match, a basket of Joel gave us two points clear, but José David Costa tied the game with another absence basket 5 seconds.

At that time Juan Rubio made a baseline penetration not only just entered and got to the extension.

The match ended tied at 68.

With 3 pivots of our team, Adrian, David Esteban and Alejandro Peri, personal expelled for 5 with two other injured Pepe and Antonio Sánchez Llorente, who forced and came out to play the final whistle with his battered ankle, which enabled it instead of remaining with only 5 players available track, we were 6, we faced our team an extension where we felt far from favorites.

The extension had everything, triple by both sides a spectacular Joel Garcia and too many errors and rainfall by both teams, when the absence of 1 minute and Cartagena with a winning point came a play which would be important in the game, we noted an unsportsmanlike foul in midfield which also led to the expulsion of the head of our player Juanjo Coello for protesting the referee's decision, the party they seemed to end there, as the string of free throws and the subsequent possession seemed too much for our team.

So we are left with 5 players and with no one to throw on the bench with the team down 4 points, 74-78, with all personal and we cargadisimos a minute to play.

The team seized the party and got to have the last ball to tie the game losing 3 points with 10 seconds.

Cartagena decided to defend without ball and an amazing triple Juan Rubio forced the second extension to tie the score at 83.

The team was in the past but the end of the first extra period had filled our team moral.

In these five minutes that would be definitive Joel Garcia excelled with 8 points, including two triples gave a distance of 6 points, Cartagena fought and returned to stand very close to us, but safety shown from the free throw and the poise of our defensive team gave a 102-101 victory that tasted like heaven for our players, who fought match against all odds and learned to stay in it in the most difficult times.

The next weekend we will play again in Cehegín in what will be the last game that will dispute this season and local, will be next to Paterna SATURDAY at 19:00 our ward.

The match is very important because the team needs the win to stay in their dispute to avoid relegation and to give validity and worth of this precious victory won at Cartagena.
