The graphic artist Christopher Aguiló wins poster contest Carnival Cehegín 2014 (15/02/2014)

For the second year, the designer Christopher Aguiló, of Sewell, was proclaimed winner of the poster competition organized by the Department Carnival Celebrations of the City of Cehegín to promote 'Northwest Carnival 2014', to be held from 1 to 8 March and is one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the town.

As stated by the author of the winning paper, "I wanted to make a completely different poster and much more fun than last year, if then used the technique of photomontage, this time I used a doll of clay that I shot with the I've made mounting cartel. "

The central motif of the work is a clay figure representing a person in a colorful, upbeat and friendly language, is masquerading several things at once, clown, pirate, cowboy and rock star, mixing different clothes and accessories.

One of these supplements is a nod to Cehegín precisely because it is carrying a shield on his left arm and that figure is made from esparto, referring to linking the town with the craftsmanship of the espadrille.

In his right hand figure carries a spear and straddles a toy horse, carrying insect wings on its back.

In the background of the work, of a deep yellow, a photograph of the Old Town of Cehegín made from the ruins of the chapel of San Sebastian is appreciated.

Aguiló Christopher has over 20 years working in the field of communication, performing creative work, graphic designer, art director and illustrator.

In recent years, he has specialized in making holiday posters, and, for example, made the poster Eagles Carnival last year and this has also made the 2014 Carnival Cartagena.

Celebrations Councilman Ruben Sanchez, explained that the competition will have been more than thirty works virtually arrivals throughout the country and many towns in the Region of Murcia, "which goes to show that this competition has every acceptance and getting better quality. "

Rubén Sánchez explained that the jury was composed of six members of Carnival parades and chaired by him.
