Continuing with the work of police control and surveillance for the eradication of drug trafficking in the Municipality, the Local Police of Cehegín, on Thursday, January 25, proceeded to the arrest of a male, a native of Hellín, 55 years old of age, as alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, for cocaine trafficking.
According to sources of the Department of Police and Public Safety of the City of Cehegín, directed by Joaquín López, the Local Police had detected the presence of a retail drug store in a house located in the old town of the town, which he received numerous short-term visits from people related to the consumption of narcotic substances.
In addition, the alleged perpetrator had been observed by the Local Police agents in charge of the investigation, in situations where presumably he was carrying out possible drug sales on public roads.
The local agents verified that it was an alleged crime of cocaine trafficking, when eight papers were taken to a buyer, the arrest of the aforementioned individual was ordered, which was carried out by a local police patrol on the morning of the last Thursday, when the referred individual was intercepted while walking in a central street of the town.
The now detained, as alleged perpetrator of a crime of drug trafficking, of substances that seriously harm health, typified in Article 368 of the Criminal Code, can face, for these events, a penalty of three to six years in prison .
This arrest, along with those practiced in recent months for similar events, is part of the Plan developed by the Department of Public Safety for the eradication of drug trafficking in the locality, which has been carried out so successfully by the Local Police .
The detainee, the substance intervened and the proceedings carried out have been made available to the Court of Guard of Caravaca de la Cruz.
