The School of Wine and the Palace of Tercia de Cehegín, hosted the DOP Bullas Exhibition yesterday, an initiative of the Bullas Protected Denomination of Origin Regulatory Council to make itself known in a wider way in the municipalities that make up the DOP Bullas, within which Cehegín is located.
In the act were present different authorities, among them the Mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora, the President of the Regulatory Council of the DOP Bullas, Francisco Carreño;
Fulgencio Pérez Hernández, General Director of Innovation, Productions and Agrifood Markets, Councilor for Tourism of the City Council of Cehegín, May Molina, and the Mayor of Bullas, María Dolores Muñoz.
The wineries belonging to this denomination of origin participated in the event, as well as an important representation of Bullas wines, so that attendees could catch up on the latest references and get to know the stories behind each wine.
It is an itinerant event for all municipalities to join the defense of an autochthonous product of quality, which generates activity, employment and feeds a natural and cultural heritage of the first magnitude.
The Exhibition has tried to link the cultural aspect and the wine offer of the area, as well as to recognize the environmental value of the vineyard in the regions that make up the production area;
At the same time that awaken consumer interest in the areas of origin of the wines consumed, thus encouraging a culture of wine as a fundamental ingredient of the Mediterranean diet.
We recall that Cehegín is one of the five municipalities of the Region of Murcia whose municipal term is included entirely in the Production Area of the wines covered by the DOP Bullas, together with Mula, Pliego, Ricote and Bullas;
territory that is completed with vineyards on the part of Moratalla, Caravaca, Calasparra and Lorca.
