As every September 10, big day marked in red in the sentimental and historical almanac Cehegín, the town celebrates today the feast of its patron saint, the Virgen de las Maravillas.
From early morning, the bells and rockets have awakened the neighbors, many of whom have gathered to participate in the Solemn Mass celebrated in the Shrine of the Franciscan convent of San Esteban.
Chaired by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Jose Manuel Lorca Planes and concelebrated by many priests and friars of Cehegín and the rest of the Northwest Region, the ceremony has been attended by the President of the Region, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Municipal Corporation with the mayor, José Rafael Rocamora, in front;
the Queen of the Festival, Maria Isabel Perez Sanchez and the Ladies of Honor, and the Board of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Wonders with its president, Alfonso City, head, along with other officials and guests.
The Choir 'Cehegín City', directed by Clara Gil, musically accompanied the mass.
Another festivity dating arrive this afternoon when the bugles sound ceheginero arena Musical Society from 18:00 in the traditional bullfight day of the Virgin.
The rejoneador Diego Ventura and bullfighters Miguel Abellan and Antonio Puerta will paseíllo on the centenary Coso ceheginero.
While you are celebrating the bullfight, in the Franciscan convent they will be putting the last flowers in the processional of the Patron Saint, which goes to the streets in a procession that will transfer to the parish church of St. Mary Magdalene.
The procession this year begins at 21:30 hours.
The transition from the image of the patroness enthroned on their way through the monumental streets of the historic center, between silence and seclusion, accompanied by marches played by the Musical Society Cehegín, will become one of the most beautiful moments and emotional of the festivity.
The Parties Cehegín continue tomorrow, September 11, the day to be held the II Feria de la Tapa "Cehegineando" which has the support of the Association of Commerce.

At night concert will take place Auryn and Sweet California, Plaza de Toros, with start time at 21.30.
On Monday, the 12th, the festivity of Cehegín, in honor of the Virgen de las Maravillas, would live another intense day especially with the Day huertanos, in which the town will become a hotbed of people who fill color and joy all its streets and which will take place on popular festibando.
