The Evolve Association explained the municipalities of the region their ideas for animal welfare (26/04/2016)

Cehegín City Council hosted the first joint meeting between representatives of the various municipalities of the Northwest Region, as well as the Evolved Association.

A group formed last year and born 2015 to promote a series of actions in defense of animals and the environment of different associations and people individually in the environment of the Northwest Region.

At the same they have attended, as hosts and representing the City of Cehegín, Concejalas Maria Jose Martinez Verdugo and Antonia Fernández Nieto, Environment, and Health and Social Services, respectively;

Moratalla, Miguel Martínez Cascales and Eva Martínez Ibáñez, Finance and Health;

from the City of Calasparra they were attended by the Councillor for Health, Paqui Sanchez Moreno and Social Services, Antonio Jose Moreno Gil;

Councilmember Caravaca de la Cruz, Maria Jose Martinez Soria, Health and Social Services and as well as the mayor of the municipality of Bullas, Juan Valera Gea, head of the Environment.

Representing the Association Evolves were its President, Antonio Jose Ruiz Bailiff, as well as some members of this group.

At this first meeting, which has been making contact, the municipalities and the Association have stressed the importance of the Consistory Northwest unitedly work to create concrete for Animal protection policies.

So, in this way, they were put on the table various initiatives that will work in the future and that will be broken down in subsequent meetings.

Including the possibility of updating or developing municipal regulations on animals, in particular, create ordinances on compulsory implementation of an electronic chip and other governing sterilization was exposed.

Also creating an agreement with veterinarians to carry out some of these initiatives.

One point Evolves Association considered the maximum interest was to create a Regional Board with representatives from each local government where they can be associations working in these areas.

All of them, as explained, would work on the possibility of creating a regional shelter for dogs.

Those attending the meeting were cited in a new meeting to be held next May, and which will be discussed in depth the above issues.
