Juan Carlos Fernandez Leon and Jose Antonio Marin Cano win literary contests Story and Poetry (12/04/2016)

As it reported by the Councillor for Culture of the City, Maravillas Fernández García, and once produced the jury, and the winners of literary competitions are organized by the City of Cehegín known.

Juan Carlos Fernandez are León, which has won the 'Salvador Garcia Jimenez' Story Award with the work entitled 'The Three Graces'.

On the other hand, José Antonio Marin Cano has managed to convince the jury of 'Fernando Gil Tudela' Award with the collection of poems 'Murdered Trees'.

Literary contests have received a total of 1928 jobs from every corner of Spain and also from different countries of the world, beating the record of participation and positioning itself as a benchmark of literary creativity.

Specifically, for the XII Story Contest 'Salvador Garcia Jimenez' have received 1367 works, while to participate in the IX Prize of Poetry 'Gil Fernando Tudela' have arrived 561 poemarios

The story competition has a unique prize of 2,000 euros and poetry another single prize endowed with 1,000 euros.

The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 20:00 pm in the House of Culture, within the activities taking place on the occasion of World Book Day.

BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY OF WINNERS:

JUAN CARLOS LEON FERNANDEZ

From Madrid.

Degree in Spanish Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid.

He currently works as a professor of language and literature at an Institute of Madrid.

He has published a book of stories from basements and roofs (Castalia, 2010), with which he won the XX Tiflos Story Award.

Collaborates in literary magazines EÑE, The Problem of Yorick, Notebook Sie7e and Culturama.

It is preparing three books of short stories: zoetropes, Sessions of desire, and raucous notes accordion and two novels, The Arranz billiards and the bright morning.

It has obtained, short story, the prestigious Story Miguel de Unamuno, the National Prize for Journalists Avila, Villa de Mazarrón-Antonio Segado del Olmo, the Story Contest on Wheels Alsa and recently José Calderón Escalada.

He has been finalist Max Aub, UNED and La Felguera.

Finalist and member of the payroll Ñ 2009 harvest.

MARIN JOSE ANTONIO CANO

(Cieza, Murcia, 1973)

He studied philology at the University of Murcia (1993-1998).

He has published with the city of Murcia in the regional collection Creajoven, in 1998, the poetry collection In Distress (2nd prize).

Since 2002, he teaches Language and Literature at the IES Ruiz de Alda, San Javier.

He is living in Santiago de la Ribera (San Javier, Murcia), the city that inspired his latest book of poetry, See the World, published in April 2013 by the Visigotia Association (Cieza), a book that has received a great reception from literary criticism (cf. epilogue and newspaper article La Opinion Francisco Javier Diez de Revenga (May 2013) and Eloy Sanchez Rosillo words).

On the other hand, Antonio Marin Cano has published unpublished poems in the online magazine The Dialogue of the Dogs (May 2013) and actively participates in activities of literary dissemination (especially poetry), collaborating with institutions in the region: Municipal Library St. Monica (San Javier), primary schools, institutes of Secondary Education, Official Language School (Days book / cultural Weeks 2013 and 2014: poetry readings in French and Spanish) and the Conservatory of Music in San Javier (Conference on Literature and music).

In 2015 he published the editorial Tres Fronteras (former regional editor of Murcia) poemario As cuttlefish bones, in the collection of digital poetry Poetry in the cloud.
