The City of Cehegín, through the Department of Environment, who heads Maria Jose Martinez Verdugo, has joined the campaign 'Earth Hour' in favor of the fight against climate change, so that next Saturday , March 19, at 20.30 hours, turn off the lighting of several of its most emblematic infrastructure for an hour.
Earth Hour is a global initiative of WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) through which individuals, schools, organizations, businesses and governments turn off their lights for 60 minutes to promote action on climate change.
By voting with their light switches, participants in Earth Hour send a powerful visual message to their leaders demanding immediate action on climate change.
Earth Hour, which as mentioned, will be held Saturday, expects hundreds of millions of people around the world turn off their lights for an hour, calling for action on climate change.
In Spain, WWF seeks continued support from municipalities, companies and other institutions, etc.
