The mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, as well as the President of the Betania Therapeutic Center, Juan Ibernón, have signed a collaboration agreement.The Councilor for Family and Social Policy, María José de Maya, was present at the event.
With this agreement, both entities intend that the users of this Center can continue to carry out different activities and, in this way, continue collaborating with the SIFA, a service they have provided since 2005, aimed at individuals and families who need advice when it comes to detecting and prevent situations related to drug use.Cehegín has a regional and regional referral service (SIFA) for drug use counseling and, since this year, a counseling and treatment service for gambling problems - REINICIA.Gambling is a pathology that consists of the progressive alteration of behavior in which the individual experiences an uncontrollable need to play, above any negative consequence."Online gambling has experienced growth in recent years that seems to have no limits." This City Council, aware of this situation and the problems in which it is deriving, has wanted to collaborate, promote it, with the amount of 2000 euros.In addition, this agreement includes a specific contribution that will allow this entity in collaboration with the IMAS, through the API-insertion support programs, to hire an unemployed person from Cehegín, in a situation of social vulnerability, for nine months.
The social workers of this City Council have collaborated in this selection process. “For us, Alicia del Amor has said, the work carried out by this entity is very important, not only for the users of this Center but for the entire population of Cehegín; prevention, the specialized counseling they carry out on addictions, on drugs and now, in addictions without substance, gambling, is undoubtedly a work to be appreciated.
"The City Council will contribute through this agreement the amount of 12,000 euros.
