Cehegín will have a Covid Point (03/09/2020)

| It will prevent displacements for people in the municipality who need to take the diagnostic test | The mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, accompanied by the mayor of Health, Mónica Sánchez, has communicated to the media that the municipality will have, as of tomorrow, Friday, September 4, a Covid Point in which diagnostic tests will be carried out on the population.The mayor explained that “in view of the current situation we are having, and after daily contact with the Ministry of Health and with the Health Area IV of the northwestern region, I informed them of the disposition, by the municipality of Cehegín of the resources that we have and we offered ourselves, in order to anticipate the needs that may arise in our locality, so that a Covid Point could be established in our municipality, given the possibility that the cases increase and that, this way, the inhabitants of our city do not have to travel to another municipality to take the diagnostic test ”.In this center, he explained, that he will be in the old station shelter, the extractions of samples for diagnostic PCR will be carried out, and it will also serve to be able to carry out screening among the population if necessary given the possible frameworks that we can find in a future.Attention at the Covid point will always be carried out with a scheduled appointment, so it is very important that, in the event of symptoms, you contact the family doctor, by telephone or telematics, who will indicate the measures to be followed.Its hours will be from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m.

and, as reported by the management of Area IV, between 90 and 100 daily tests will be carried out that will be expanded as the pandemic evolves and if necessary.At this point, Covid tests will be carried out on the population of the municipalities of Cehegín and Bullas.Up to this point, the manager of Area IV, Mercedes Barba, has traveled today, who thanked the City Council for its willingness and facilities for the implementation of this point and has appealed to the population "to continue all the sanitary indications since, the average age of the admitted patients has lowered enough, but at the same time the elderly people are beginning to be infected again ”.
