Cehegín will activate a Special Vigilance Plan for the days on which the Patron Saint Festivities would take place (02/09/2020)

The Department of Citizen Security of the City Council of Cehegín has developed a special surveillance device for the days in which the Patron Saint Festivities should be celebrated, between September 8 and 14, as a preventive measure against possible crowds of people and to guarantee the compliance with the recommendations set by the health authorities.

This has been presented to the media by the titular councilor, Jerónimo Moya, and the Chief of the Local Police, Manuel Fernández. "Coinciding with the days on which the Patron Saint Festivities of our town would take place, the councilor explained, we have designed an extraordinary surveillance plan that pays special attention to the surveillance of behaviors that may pose a risk to citizen security, due to the health crisis in which we are immersed.

And this operation aims to monitor and control crowds and concentrations of people as well as private parties, in order to try to control the escalation of cases that we are seeing in recent days in our Region and in municipalities very close to us ". "Precisely, he added, the Patron Saint Festivities of other suspended municipalities serve as a sample to start this operation, because those concentrations that have occurred in them, in low places, in country houses, etc., have been the focus in which the chaos of the virus in these localities have begun to rise ". In this way, he has commented, economic sanctions will be imposed in case of non-compliance with health regulations to those who fail to comply with these measures, or to whom, where appropriate, may be subsidiary responsible for the same, in the case of rentals to celebrate any concentration or party. The mayor, at this point has highlighted "the more than 100 fines that, from the Local Police, have been imposed on people who do not respect health measures and respect the whole of society" All efforts will be focused on monitoring compliance with the established regulations, being the object of inspection all those leisure places susceptible to concentration of people, such as parks, ground floor or hospitality premises, from which collaboration is requested in the Regarding compliance with the stipulated schedule, control of the capacity of the establishment and interpersonal distance between clients. On the other hand, the mayor has commented that the City Council is also working on an Ordinance, which will be approved in the next plenary session, to prohibit the sale of alcohol in convenience establishments from 10:00 p.m., as well as the establishment of measures to end the consumption of alcohol in the street. The mayor, finally, has appealed "to personal responsibility to stop this pandemic.

The best defense, the best prevention, is responsibility and heed the instructions and regulations imposed by the health authorities."
