The Councilor for Citizen Security Jerónimo Moya, has informed the media that the Local Police of Cehegín arrested three individuals, two men and one woman, all of them Cuban nationality last Monday, August 10, when they had just robbed a neighbor of the town who was preparing to make the bank deposit of a large sum of money.According to the report issued by the Local Police, the woman was queuing, waiting her turn to enter, when one of the alleged perpetrators stood behind her, carefully throwing five 5-euro bills to the ground, at the feet of her victim , calling his attention, and asked if they had dropped it, the woman told him that she thought not, while bending down to pick them up, at which point a woman, an accomplice of the previous one, entered the scene, who took advantage of the moment to remove the purse from inside the victim's purse.Upon realizing the robbery, the woman went out after the assailants shouting "they just robbed me", while they began their flight on the run, towards Mataró street, where a third member of the gang was waiting for them in a vehicle.At the same time, a Local Police patrol that was in the vicinity of the Gran Vía, observing what happened, began the pursuit of the criminals, heading after them towards the aforementioned vehicle, where they both entered and began the march.It was then that a neighbor who was witnessing the chase in amazement and had just parked, who crossed her van in the middle of the street, cutting off the criminals, being blocked from the back by the patrol car, two of them, the driver, being arrested.

and the woman, inside the car by a local agent, while the third was able to get out of it, again fleeing, being pursued by the other policeman who caught up with him and finally stopped him, putting an end to his criminal act.In the subsequent search carried out on the vehicle, the assailants were intervened, the purse stolen from the victim was located, with more than 1,400 euros.From the Local Police Headquarters it has been reported that the three detainees were part of a gang specialized in this type of theft, with one of the detainees having several arrest warrants for similar acts and robberies with violence in other provinces of the Spanish geography.The Local Police of Cehegín recommends all citizens to take extreme precautions when carrying money or valuable goods and to be wary of strangers who may distract them or offer disinterested help, to avoid being a victim of crimes of this type.
