The City Council of Cehegín joins the campaign "For love, what would you do? ..." (13/08/2020)

The City Council of Cehegín, through the councils of Social Policy and Health, led by María José de Maya and Mónica Sánchez, respectively, have joined the campaign that the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions of the Region of Murcia, " For love, what would you do? ....

", aimed at adolescents and alcohol in times of Covid, as the rest of the municipalities of the Region of Murcia will join.

The campaign includes the placement of various posters in the existing mupis in our municipality. Its objective is to make it easier for adolescents and young people to respect the proposed health security measures to avoid the spread of covid-19 infection, in order to prevent contagion related to mass meetings of young people in contexts of leisure, fun and party, due to the disinhibition of behavior due to the consumption of alcohol and other drugs, which may mean the abandonment of preventive measures such as the use of a mask and social distance.The campaign "For love, what would you do? ..." has been promoted by the Ministry of Health through the Health Promotion and Education Service of the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions, from the Regional Plan on Addictions and its Prevention area, as well as the prevention of covid-19 infection.For its promotion, the graphic supports and communication media available at the municipal level will be used. With the slogan "For love, what would you do? ..." it is intended to reflect graphically with fun drawings of boys and girls, with cheerful colors and in relaxed contexts, enjoying new situations.In this way, the situations in which you want to influence through positive responses will be presented, without punitive or blaming proposals, summarized in three messages: Protect my family, Take care of my colleagues, Avoid the bottle, with a common denominator that is the campaign slogan: For love, what would you do? ..., which evokes that, from empathy and affection, it is easier to dispense with habitual actions with which adolescents and young people amuse themselves, without provoking the rebellion typical of age against prohibitions.Preventive campaigns in adolescents must be directed towards affectivity to reach responsibility, avoiding imposition, which allows us to hope that it will facilitate the acceptance of health regulations, the clarification of values ??on this issue and adaptive decision-making.The consumption of alcohol and other drugs among adolescents and young people tends to take place during leisure time and fun with friends, and in many cases it is shared use.

In adolescence, personal identity is consolidated, a greater degree of autonomy, intellectual maturity and decision-making capacity are acquired, not always channeled towards healthy behaviors.The end of confinement, together with the end of the school year and the beginning of summer, is making the recovery of the daily life of adolescents and young people an explosion of reunions and becoming sources of risk for the contagion of covid- 19.
