Cehegín will live a great weekend.

To this end of the successful Tapa and Cocktail Route, the beginning of the events that from the Town Hall have been prepared to celebrate Carnival, one of the most important traditional festivals in the ceheginero calendar, is joined.

Therefore, from this Friday until Sunday, there will be a wide range of activities as luxury companions, which will invite you to go out and participate.

The city of the northwest is already prepared to receive thousands of visitors, eager to continue enjoying and savoring the Ceheginean gastronomy and enjoy the different proposals that will be made on the occasion of these two events.

Starting tomorrow, Friday, at noon, you can try the delicious tapas and cocktails in restaurants, pubs and cafes that participate in the route until Sunday night.

At 6:30 p.m., the first Carnival event will take place with a great Carnival dance at the Casino de Cehegín, with the participation of the Day Center "Virgen de las Maravillas".

And the Ruta de la Tapa and the Cocktail will close its cycle 'Cooking with ....' of this edition with María del Carmen Martínez, from the Casino Café, and our countrywoman, actress Susi Espín.

It will be at the School of Wine, starting at 8:00 p.m., with free admission until full capacity is reached.

Already, on Saturday, February 22, will begin with the V Carnavatón, starting at 11:30 in Ginés de Paco street, in which the inscriptions will be made.

This test will have two races, the “Infantil”, at 12:00 hours;

and the “Dog”, at 12:30 pm.

Another novelty is the traditional Mascarón festival, which moves to this Saturday at 6:00 p.m., with a party on the Gran Vía, “Vamos de Mascareo”, and in which attendees can enjoy music, tasting of fried cakes ... and the distinctions of "Mask of Remembrance", which have fallen this year in Francisco Martínez de la Ossa, "Paco El Ventanas";

and the "Mask of the Year" to Antonio Sáez Toral "El Maripepa".

The Wine School will also host this Saturday a new activity on Music and Wine.

All attendees will be able to taste, on this occasion, the craft beer Chair and will be accompanied by a concert by the British singer based in Murcia Austin Slack.

It will be at 8:30 p.m.

We remember that tickets have been sold out for several days.

That same night, starting at 10:30 p.m., in the Camelot Hall, there will be a Spanish Pop / Rock concert tribute to the 80s and 90s with the Rebobina group and this emblematic party room will also host the traditional “Contest of Masks ”in which authenticity and staging on stage will be valued, with Gold, Silver and Bronze masks and cash prizes being awarded.

Sunday, February 23, will be the day starring the little ones, from in the morning, at 11:30, with children's activities in Ginés de Paco street.

But without a doubt, the main course of Carnival Sunday will be the Children's Parade in which Cehegín schools and children's schools and districts will participate.

It will be from 4:30 pm and its completion will be in the Camelot Room with a party and snack for the participants, enlivened by the "We Are Pirates" Cantajuegos.

It should also be remembered that, both on Saturday and Sunday, the Visit to the 7 Wonders of Cehegín continues with wine tasting and sausages in the area at 11.30 am from the Tourist Office (reservations at the Tourist Office, 968723550 and 628408565);

and the Panoramic Bus (free) at 12.30 pm from the Plaza del Alpargatero.

Many and varied reasons to approach the Northwest region and enjoy the 16 tapas and 6 cocktails of its gastronomic route;

taking advantage of the stay to know its rich historical and cultural legacy that have made Cehegín the First Rural Wonder of Spain.
