The districts of Canara, Valentín and La Carrasquilla have democratically elected their pedáneos, according to the process of citizen participation that has taken place in these past two weekends.

This was reported by the First Deputy Mayor, Jerónimo Moya, who is also mayor of Citizen Participation and Transparency in the City Council.

On November 23 and 24, elections were held in the districts of Canara and Valentín.

In Canara José Antonio González Fernández was elected On Valentine's Day, meanwhile, Ana Belén Pérez Fernández was chosen.

This past Saturday, November 30, it was the Carrasquilla who chose his son.

It was Juan Antonio Martínez Corbalán.

In the other districts, that is, the Chaparral, Campillo de los Jiménez, the Pilá, Royo Hurtado, Cañada de Canara and the Escobar, the elections have not been held by having only one candidate.

Therefore, those who, in their day, requested to be part of this election process will be elevated to pedáneos.

These are the following: María Martínez Martínez in Escobar.

Juan Francisco Martínez Fernández in Canada de Canara.

María Dolores by Maya Zafra, in La Pilá.

José Antonio Ruiz Moreno, in the Royo Hurtado.

Juan Antonio Zafra Carmona, in the Campillo de los Jiménez and José Antonio Fernández Valera, in the Chaparral.

These pediatric mayors of the municipality will soon take possession of their positions in a joint act chaired by the mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, which will be held in the plenary hall of the City Council

This initiative, as explained, has wanted to give voice to the neighbors of the districts and deepen and strengthen democratic values, while offering these representatives the possibility of working to improve the districts and all citizens who live them.
