The president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, has been present in the reading of the Manifesto that has been read in the Plaza del Alpargatero.
The event has also been attended by the mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, as well as various members of the Government Team and Municipal Corporation.
“Today, the mayor of Women and Equality has read, everyone, we hope with hope that in the near future there will be no reason to commemorate November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and with the certainty that there are no ideological barriers that put a stop to a common struggle against gender violence â€.
Before reading, the song Resistiré has been performed by the audience and in which the IES Alquipir and Vega del Argos have collaborated, as well as the Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas school in San Vicente de Paul.
At the same time, the names of the victims of gender violence of the year 2019 have been read;
poems have been recited and messages have been placed on violet trees against gender-based violence.
A song by the popular artist Rozalen has also been performed by those attending the event.
Already, tomorrow, November 26, at 6:00 p.m., a small representation on gender violence will take place at the Adolfo Suárez Cultural Center in charge of the Housewives Association and then a talk will take place by the Association of Foreign Women of Cehegín.
On the other hand, on Wednesday, November 27, it will be the turn of a “Self Defense Workshopâ€.
It will be held in the Sports Pavilion "Loli de Gea", from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In it, a theoretical and a practical part will be developed.
