Cehegín hosts the Ecovidrio campaign "La Peña Recicla" 2019 during its Patron Festivities (04/09/2019)

The councilor of Festejos, in turn also of the Environment, Juan Martínez, has informed that Ecovidrio, the non-profit entity responsible for managing the recycling of glass packaging waste in Spain, in collaboration with the City of Cehegín , launches, again, the awareness campaign "La Peña Recicla" to promote the recycling of glass containers and sustainability during the local festivities of the town among all the peñistas and neighbors.

The initiative, which will take place on September 11, 12, and 13, challenges all Peñas to participate in the competition and compete with each other to recycle the largest number of kg of glass containers during these days.

The most recycled Rock will take a lot of products from the land.

For the development of the contest, Ecovidrio will place a giant scale in the Fairgrounds.

Party people should go to the scale between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to weigh and recycle their glass container waste.

Several educators will weigh the glass containers and take control of the recycled kg for each of the Peñas.

In addition, an eco-patrol will visit the local parties at this same time encouraging them to participate in the contest and recycle all the glass containers they generate.

Peñistas and citizens who approach despite weighing their glass containers to the scale will be presented with merchandising of the campaign.

In addition, they can upload their most sustainable photos to the RRSS with the hashtag # LaPeñaRecicla.

All the information regarding the campaign can be consulted through the web www.lapeñarecicla.es and each club can know where in the ranking it is during the days of the contest.

According to the latest available data for 2018, the citizens of Cehegín recycled a total of 374,770 kilograms of glass containers.

This means that each citizen recycled an average of 24.9 kilograms of glass.

Regarding the rate of containerization, Cehegín stands with an average of 127 inhabitants per container, currently having a total of 118 igloos for glass container waste installed in the municipality.
