The Department of Environment and Public Safety, directed by Maria Dolores Carrasco, has changed the optics of all traffic lights Cehegín by modern LEDs, which give much more light, even in daylight, and significantly reduce electricity consumption.

Thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Environment, the municipality has been able to renew all the lights of the town, which have improved the safety of drivers and pedestrians.

Also, the council has reported that "we have installed a new traffic light on Highway to Murcia, at the junction of the Parador de la Cuesta, because that area created many difficulties for pedestrians."
