The image of the Virgen de las Maravillas will be forwarded to the Regional Centre for Restoration of Cultural Property next Monday, December 1, where it will be operated from small chips in the polychrome and other barely perceptible damage.
This was announced the president of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Wonders, Alfonso City, in a press conference in which also helped the father guardian of the convent of San Esteban, Friar José Torres, and the Councillor for Culture, Nicolas del Toro.
A company specializing in the transport of works of art now move to the image to the Regional Center for Restoration of the Autonomous Community on Monday morning.
As explained Alfonso City, Our Lady of Wonders remain in Murcia about the end of February, and technical center will use for the image review work to assess overall.
"We want to send a message of reassurance to all cehegineros, in the sense that there is significant damage, but only minimal product damage over time, which will be fully cured", said Alfonso City,
As reported a few weeks ago, Mayor Jose Soria, and the president of the brotherhood of the Virgen de las Maravillas, held a meeting in mid-October with the Minister of Culture, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, which exposed the need to restore the image.

City Alfonso also highlighted the willingness of the director of the Regional Center for Restoration, Francisco López Soldevila, who on November 18 moved to Cehegín to check 'in situ' in his dressing room state of the Virgen de las Maravillas.
