The Franciscan Father Antonio Vidal will be honored for his long career in Cehegín (29/09/2014)

The parish community of Our Lady of Wonderland, San Esteban convent of the Franciscan fathers, and the Secular Franciscan Order (SFO) will pay tribute to Father Antonio Vidal next Thursday, October 2nd, to recognize his catechetical work and extensive ceheginero career in the convent, which has been a convent for extended periods in different decades.

The tribute is part of the novena to St. Francis of Assisi, who has been held in the convent facing the feast of the holy founder of this order on 4 October.

At 20:00 am on October 2 Mass will be held after the novena to San Francisco and then perform the tribute to Father Vidal, discovering plate convent cloister room that bears his name from that day forward.

The convent of San Esteban de Cehegín was founded by a decree signed by Felipe II in 1566 The church was built on an existing chapel dedicated to St. Stephen municipal patronage.
