The Local Police inform neighbors about the rules of tenure Pets (17/02/2014)

Cehegín City Council, through the departments of Environment and Public Safety directing Maria Dolores Carrasco, will launch in March a campaign to inform and sensitize the public about the ownership of pets.

The objective is to enforce the city ordinance establishes general rules that helps reconcile Pets tenure with the limitations imposed by such right of peaceful coexistence rules, the basic principle that animals should enjoy suitable conditions of life and prevent and control the discomfort and dangers that these animals can cause to people and the environment.

Local police will be responsible for informing citizens holders or owners of pets and dogs in particular the obligations and responsibilities they have.

This campaign will last for the months of March and April, the agents can punish after accomplishing those who commit offenses and violates the ordinance.

This has been explained this morning at a press conference Councilwoman Maria Dolores Carrasco and Sergeant-chief of the local police, Gabino Garcia.

Penalties are divided into minor offenses to be punished by a fine of 30.50 to 300.50 euros, serious, a fine of EUR 300.51 to 1502.53, and very serious, a fine of 1502.54 3,005.06 euros.

Among the minor offenses are considered unrecorded possession of dogs or unidentified, non-removal of droppings public roads or possession of pets in households without sanitary conditions optimal.

Among the serious violations are no vaccination and marketing of animals without the proper permits and licenses.

Finally, it is considered very serious offenses abandoning a pet, organizing fights between animals of any species or their use in performances involving cruelty or abuse.

The possession or ownership of dogs usually live in the municipality of Cehegín requires its holders or owners to provide themselves with the Canine Health Card and enroll in the Municipal Census of Pets, in fulfilling the animal three months of age or one month after purchase, and must notify the City, within 15 days, any change that affects the animal.

In Census of Pets, the following data were collected: species, race, year of birth, name, sex, color, characteristics, accidental characteristics, habitual residence of the animal, full name of the owner or holder and ID, address and telephone number and type of identification and number.

In the street, the dogs shall be provided with belt or chain necklace.

To make this census has created specific applications that can be collected both at City Hall and the Public Safety Headquarters located next to Marble Technology Center.

Special mention animals that are considered "potentially dangerous", being those who belong to races that are capable of causing death or injury to persons or animals and damage to property.

These animals are recorded in a separate census and their owners must have a special license granted by the City of Cehegín after verifying a data series.
