The Day Centre 'Virgin Wonderland' has created a group of volunteers throughout this summer is making efforts to support and help the elderly users of the center, as explained by the Councillor for Social Services, María José de Maya.
On July, 28 people, mostly young, received a small initial training four days, and once completed, they began to perform daily tasks such as downtown walks, talks, aid in the maintenance, activities entertainment and support in basic activities of daily living.
Animay Association, manager of the service, provided them with initial training, liability insurance and a contract of common rights and duties which have signed the 28 volunteers.
"It is good news that many people give without expecting anything in return, so they need others to live with greater warmth and humanity," said the councilman of Social Services.
