When August reaches Ecuador, the districts of Canara cehegineras and El Chaparral celebrate their festivals in honor of the Virgen de la Peña and Our Lady of the Assumption, respectively.
In Canara, acts begin next Wednesday, August 14, with the transfer of the Virgen de la Peña from his sanctuary on the mountain to the church of the population.
The image of the patron remain in the village until Sunday August 25, when she came up with the conclusion of the holidays this year.
But before that day the town will celebrate its traditional closures and bulls exhibits on 15, 16, 17 and August 18.
Also this year include performances by singers Andalusians and Manu Tenorio Fergó Nuria, who came out of the first edition of Pop Idol TV show, and that show the best of his repertoire of 15 and 17.
In addition, the annual visit of the Virgin de la Peña to Canara complete with religious celebrations, a mass orchard with wreath, fireworks and food tasting.
