Fernando López Miras, the regional chief of staff, received today in the Palacio de San Esteban the pilot ceheginera Ana Carrasco, the first woman to win a motorcycle race in a world championship, thanks to his victory in Portimão (the Portuguese Algarve) in a test of the World of Supersport 300.
López Miras highlighted the enthusiasm and desire of Ana Carrasco, and stressed that "with champions like her the Region of Murcia has a lot of future."
In this regard, she expressed her "gratitude and pride" for the success achieved by the ceheginera pilot, "in a sport that has always been dominated by men and in which she is breaking barriers," which the president said, is an example of commitment, effort and improvement. "
"This is the beginning of many successes for the Region," said the regional chief executive, who recalled that Ana Carrasco faces next week to a new competition in France and that ends the season in Jerez.
