The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure paths opens this week calls for aid for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of houses in the town of Cehegín.

This initiative is part of Area Regeneration and Urban Renewal (ARRU) of the municipality, funded from the Housing Plan, which will involve a total investment of 2.4 million euros.

The Minister Francisco Barnabas, accompanied by the local mayor, José Rafael Rocamora, stressed that the ARRU "is a tool that brings an injection into the local economy through the construction sector, an enhancement that provides more training and specialization in this area of ​​work. "

"The regional government promotes rehabilitation as an engine for generating wealth and employment," Barnabas said, adding that the government "is focusing its efforts on meeting this priority and, through economic growth and creating job opportunities noted improve the activity of the sector. "

The counselor said today at the Town office that the three governments (state, regional and local) contribute 1.3 million euros ARRU, amount that represents almost 50 percent of the total, while the homeowners involved with 1 ,1 million.

One of the lines of support, which will have a budget of 742,500 euros, will allow citizens of the municipality obtain grants of up to 14,850 euros for the rehabilitation of their homes.

These improvements include conservation foundation, structure, roofs, walls and other common elements;

sustainability and thermal insulation of the building that affects energy consumption and improving accessibility to housing.

Such aid will improve housing within an area of ​​139.18 hectares of the city center that houses the old town, the downtown shopping area and the neighborhoods of San Cristobal, San Antonio, Wonderland or the Convent, and San Juan or the bullring.

Also, the Minister Francisco Bernabe said that a second line of support, with a budget of 180,000 euros, will enable the reconstruction of houses in the historical district.

Every citizen can get up to 30,000 euros per household.

The Minister said that in addition, the ARRU is completed with 320,040 euros for the redevelopment of the urban environment, with renovation of squares, pavements, furniture and trees, among other elements, and 80,024 euros for technical management teams.
