Women and Equality presents the program of events for 'November 25', International Day Against Gender Violence (16/11/2020)

The mayor of Women and Equality, Mónica Sánchez, together with the Technician of this council, Cati de la Ossa, presented this morning the program of events for November 25, International Day Against Gender Violence.

The City Council Press Room has hosted the presentation of all the activities proposed for this year under the slogan 'Look without fear', whose poster has been made by the visual artist from Cehegine, Esther Carrascal, and in which all the Women's groups have collaborated of the locality.Mónica Sánchez explained that “it is an exceptional year because we have had to adapt to the circumstances of this Covid era in which we have had to live, but we do consider something key to continue forward in this work of awareness and reflection on this violence that exists in our society".The mayor thanked "all the Women's Associations of the municipality for their involvement, their work, so that all these acts see the light, despite these extreme circumstances that we live, and serve, one more year, as a symbol of abuse" .In this way, the different events that are going to take place have been developed, having as its epicenter on Wednesday, November 25, in which the traditional manifesto will be read and that, due to the current situation caused by the Covid-19 crisis It will be read at the Coso at 12 noon.

It will be broadcast live on social networks.In addition to this activity, others that will take place will be the placement of the symbolic and protest banner that will be located on Ginés de Paco street and the exhibition of Posters on Violence carried out by the Women's Associations of the municipality, in the Plaza de la Verja .In addition, the More FM Begastri radio will carry out a special on this subject in which it will feature the PAE Psychologist.On the other hand, the Sensibilízate program will be present in all the local institutes, specifically 4th of ESO, which aims to raise awareness and train on equality, consolidating education, in an enjoyable way, as a necessary tool for change and awareness.

Also, through Mujomur, creative activities will be carried out in educational centers for this social awareness.Also part of this year's events is the campaign that the council carries out annually in which citizens are asked to send videos condemning gender violence, in order to spread them on social networks.And, finally, the shops of Cehegín and the institutional buildings will join this demand for rights and the condemnation of gender violence, embodying in them the lilac color, in the form of ties or lighting.
