| The City Council joins together with the Instituto de Fomento to achieve the internationalization of the cut flower sector | The regional cut flower sector is one of the most competitive internationally, and has its spearhead in Cehegín.

Given its great socio-economic importance, last Wednesday a meeting was held between the Secretary General of the Ministry of Enterprise, Industry and Spokesperson, José Gabriel Sánchez Torregrosa; the director of INFO, Diego Rodriguez-Linares; the Councilor for Industry, Economic Promotion and Employment of the City Council of Cehegín, Juan Guillén, the president of the Governing Council of Canaraflor, Salvador de Maya; and Juan Maravillas Ortega, manager of Canaraflor.In this meeting, the needs that the sector has at the moment to improve the profitability of its product, as well as its positioning in national markets and especially in international ones, were exposed.The Promotion Institute has also put on the table the lines of aid that the institution can focus on producers and marketers of cut flowers, offering the permanent office that the INFO has in Brussels for the management at European level of the demands of the sector.The Cehegín City Council is committed, through INFO, to the internationalization of companies in search of new and potential European markets and in the rest of the world.

The Instituto de Fomento also committed to working to include the local cut flower sector in one of the European associations of the sector, with the intention that Cehegin flower growers have a voice in the areas of European decision on common policy focused on production and flower marketing.
