The councilors, José Antonio Zafra and Pedro Lorencio, of Sports and Works and Services, openly, opened yesterday the new lighting that will have the IES Vega del Argos Track.
It was also attended by the Director of this educational center, Nicolás del Toro.
The twelve new spotlights installed will serve to carry out with total normality the activity that, for a few months, the Cehegín Skating Club performs in this Center.
“With the incorporation of the lighting to this track, the mayor explained, we respond to a need that is very demanded by the users of this Skating Club, which will allow to get a better performance to it and develop with normality its sports practice at these times of the year, when the light decreases. â€
This Club, we remember, was founded by María José Giménez Guirao and Alfonso López Fernández, for the practice of skating in a selfless and non-profit way in a familiar way and in coexistence between parents and children.
They created, in this way, a Facebook page called “Cehegín Skatingâ€, where a “hangout†was published per month, beginning their activity with about nine girls and doubling each week in number.
“When I started this adventure, María José says, my partner Alfonso contacted me, through Facebook, offering us his knowledge to help us and move forward with skating and, for a year, we have been practicing in the public parks of Cehegín and , sometimes, we moved to the covered track of the Cup (Bullas) where we practiced in the skate park. â€
“Subsequently, he has continued explaining, we have grown so much in children, adolescents and adults, that they collaborate with us as they learn.
We have gone from being about fifty-five users in our whatsapp group to more than one hundred and fifty, plus another group that we just started in the district of Valentín.
We are currently in the process of creating the Northwest Freestyle Roller Club. â€
