The Councilor for Tourism, María Dolores Agudo, has presented the new season of the Craft Market 'El Mesoncico', which will begin on Sunday, November 24 with an edition dedicated to the "Autumn Flavors", and will have in the Plaza del Castillo , in the heart of the Old Town of the town.

All the markets will be thematic, and will be dedicated to different aspects and traditions of the life of the municipality, and as explained “it will also be a season of change and momentum, for one of our tourist identity signs�.

The City Council, they have commented, has “designed a complete program that combines, tradition, culture, the best cuisine and of course the local and regional crafts, all in an incomparable setting such as our historic center of Cehegín, in this year, in addition, in which we have been fortunate to be designated as the first rural wonder of Spain 2019 â€�

The number of markets that will be held in this new stage will be reduced to four, “increasing the number of activities and their quality, in order to attract tourists again and become a reference in this type of activities, such as We already were a few years ago. �

All information related to craft markets will be published on the website of our town hall, as well as through our social networks.

This would be the complete programming of these markets:

NOVEMBER 24 “AUTUMN FLAVORS�.

As the name implies, it is a market for the promotion, dissemination and sale of typical products of our area;

In it, artisans from the whole Region of Murcia will offer products related to jewelry, textiles, products made with esparto;

as well as gastronomic products such as sausages, jams, chestnuts, honey or wines.

All accompanied by children's and musical activities such as:

CASA DE HANSEL E GRETEL, in which the little ones can taste magnificent and handmade chocolate cookies made by the bakeries of our municipality, while enjoying the narration of this magnificent story, this will be represented in the most traditional style, in which we not only want to make the little ones laugh, but to transmit the value and power of the stories.

And of course, we could not end our visit to the flea market, without savoring our traditional crumbs accompanied by a glass of wine from our land.

A pleasure for the senses that cannot be missed.

December 22 "CHRISTMAS TALES".

Market designed for those who love Christmas, what better than immersing themselves in it and being carried away by its color, getting lost in the smell of its sweets and smiling at the time of Christmas carols or the traditional music of the gang meeting.

Our little ones can enjoy the Santa Claus house, where they can taste Christmas candies and nougat, while enjoying the narration of Christmas stalls or making their own sweets accompanied by their favorite characters.

The elders, we can enjoy the gathering of crews that have traditionally been developed in this Christmas market, and savor our traditional sweets and spirits.

And of course, when you don't know if you live a reality or a dream, what better way to take a memory to prove that the experience was real.

February 16, "CARNIVAL MARKET".

Market marked by color and music, where you can enjoy the I CONCENTRATION OF BATUCADAS DE LA COMARCA DEL NOROESTE, as well as an exhibition of costumes that have been worn in our carnival parades by the cehegineros and cehegineras in years previous.

There will also be a contest of makeup and activities for the little ones, and of course, our gastronomy and traditions, dress up to enjoy our magnificent cakes fried with chocolate.

March 29 “SPRING REDOBLE�.

In this new edition, from the Department of Tourism we want to dedicate the market of the mesoncico, to one of the most important dates of the year in our town, a time of flowering with the arrival of spring, but also of fervor and devotion, with the Arrival of our Holy Week.

This market will revolve around everything that this important tradition entails, where our steps look adorned with all kinds of flowers, and coinciding with the beginning of spring that best reason, to generate a synergy between flowers, crafts and our traditional steps doubles, all in the incomparable setting of Holy Week Cehegínera.

For this reason, in this market the people who visit us will be able to enjoy the production of live bouquets, an exhibition of the cultural and religious heritage of the different brotherhoods that make up our Holy Week, to which I take the opportunity to thank you, for the extraordinary work they do year after year, all harmonized with the sound of our fantastic and traditional double steps, which will offer us the different music bands of our municipality.

All these described markets will be located in our emblematic old town, specifically in the Plaza del Castillo, from 10 am to 3 pm.

Throughout this edition of the market, we will have the presence of the tourist train, a resource, which will be available to tourists and curious, who want to enjoy our town in these special days.

On the other hand I want to take the opportunity, to inform about the second-hand markets, which have been carried out to date in Cehegín.

Some markets, which are now called second-hand fair and antiques, taking place two fairs next year 2020, the days:

January 16 and April 26, place the old train station, also from 10 to 15 hours.
