Cehegín, as reported by the Councilor for Tourism, María Dolores Agudo Valdés, could be declared one of the seven rural wonders 2019. The municipality of the Northwest is the only one in the region of Murcia selected by the giant HomeAway, an online platform expert in vacation rental , to win this title, which aims to reward and recognize the best rural destinations throughout Spain.
The town could take the witness of Ribadesella, which became the third Rural Wonder 2018. The other candidates are Casares, Almodóvar del Río, Cantavieja, Bárcena Mayor, Consuegra, Valverde de los Arroyos, Ledesma, Puebla de Sanabria, Castellfollit de la Roca, Castell de Guadalest, Zafra, Tui, Deià , Betancuria, Briones, Chinchón, Bowls, Estella and Mundaka.
In this eighth edition to be held this year, HomeAway continues its work to promote and disseminate rural tourism.
The platform maintains its commitment to the sector with the celebration of this initiative, which returns to reward and recognize the best rural destinations throughout Spain.
To participate in the selection of the 7 Rural Wonders of Spain in 2019, travelers can do so through the website enabled for the contest from September 25 to October 17.
