A person has been arrested as an alleged perpetrator of the crimes of drug trafficking and electric power fraud

The plantation was inside a country house, where electricity had been illicitly connected

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed in Cehegín the operation 'Escoverde', a research framed in services aimed at preventing and prosecuting drug trafficking, which has resulted in the dismantling of an indoor marijuana plantation and with the arrest of the person who ran her as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of drug trafficking and electric power fraud.

Cash from the Benemérita started the operation last September, when it was suspected that there was a cannabis sativa plantation that went completely unnoticed among the different country houses in the rural area of ​​the ceheginero municipality.

The first investigations allowed to determine the veracity of the suspicions and to locate the exact location of the plantation, which was inside a building, so that successive monitoring devices were established in the area.

The various operations carried out allowed the investigators to verify that there was a house with a strong odor of marijuana and an illegal connection to the electrical wiring, which allowed to center the operation on the property.

Soon after, the civil guards found that the house had been rented by the owner to another person, a neighbor of Calasparra.

It was also found that the latter did not reside in the rented country house.

Once all the necessary evidence has been obtained, the Civil Guard has carried out the exploitation phase of the operation and, with prior judicial authorization, has made the entry and searched the house, where the suspect has been arrested as an alleged author of the crimes of drug trafficking and electric energy fraud and an indoor plantation with 124 plants has been seized, as well as all the elements necessary for its production, such as lighting, heating, irrigation and ventilation devices.

The operation continues open, so new actions and arrests are not ruled out.

The Spanish detainee, 48 years old and neighbor of Calasparra, the drug apprehended, the recovered effects and the diligences instructed have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
